Our family moved to Winnetka the summer before I started 9th grade. I became close friends with Joyce Mages who lived on my street. On a road trip to Northern Wisconsin with my family, she attempted to teach me the school song. She and I spent many hours at this hopeless task until finally she said it was good enough. At the first pep rally I belted out the Green and the Grey until I realized I was hopelessly out-of-tune. From then on, I mostly lip-synched it.
